What will
happen when I arrive at the test centre?
Once you arrive at the test centre the following will happen:
The Supervisor Will record your full name, date of birth, country and
place of birth, nationality and your postcode.
Your photo ID will be checked.
You will have to pay for the test if you haven't already
The test supervisor will check to see if you have completed the
'Prepare for the Test" section on the life in the UK website.
You will be logged onto a computer to go through a practice test
before beginning the Life in the UK Test.
You will then be informed of the amount of time you have to complete
the REAL test.
What will I be tested on?
In the test you will get a total of 24 questions based on chapters 2, 3
and 4 of the 'Life in the United Kingdom: A Journey to Citizenship.'
book. This can be purchased from The Stationary Office or from bookshops
across the UK like WHSmiths.
Will the
British Citizenship Test (Life in the UK Test) be relevant to the part of the UK
I live in?
Most questions within the test are about life in the UK, as mentioned in
chapters 2, 3 and 4 of the 'Life in the United Kingdom: A Journey to
Citizenship.' book. You ill also be asked about the part of the UK you
live in - England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.
How long does the
British Citizenship Test (Life in the UK Test) last?
You will have 45 minutes to complete 24 questions. This will
allow you plenty of time to answer the questions and also review the
answers you have given before submitting your exam. It is wise to
utilise all the time you have been given and not hurry. If you have
certain medical conditions you may be allowed more time. You must notify
the test centre of any medical conditions at the time of booking your
test
